Question: Control rules of Hyundai automobiles which have automatic transmission
Answer: Control positions of speed gauge handle:
P position P position provides full inactiveness of automobile. After the driver stops and park the automobile in order to provide full stop of car driver should pull the brake fully and bring the speed gauge handle to P position.
R position
R position is used in motions of automobile in the back directions.
N position
This provides neutral position of transmission. Contrary to P position in N position it is possible to move automobile both forward and back by pulling or pushing.
D position
D position is used during forward motion of the automobile.
“+” and “–” positions (Sport mode)
(These positions are available in SONATA, GRANDEUR, TUCSON, SANTA FE and etc.)
Usage of these positions provides the driver agile control of automobile with transmitting high and low speed transmissions.
In D position during forward motion the driver pressing on “gas pedal” more sharply to change the handle in + direction can transmit to high speed transmissions more agile than normal regime.
Example: When the automobile moves with D 1 transmission speed if driver presses “gas pedal” once in + direction transmission speed increases from 1 to 2, presses twice transmission speed increases to 3, three times presses transmission speed increases to four.
Analogously, pressing the handle in “-” direction provides transmitting to lower speed transmissions more agile than normal regime.
Engine can be switched only in P and N positions. 3, 2 and L positions: (TERRACAN, ACCENT, ELANTRA, GETZ, MATRİX and etc.)
These positions depending on the conditions of the road (downhill, uphill, sharp turns, sliding and etc.) provide the chance of controlling the automobile in lower speed transmissions.
If the handle is brought to 3 position automobile can be controlled with D1, D2 and D3 speed transmissions, if brought to 2 position automobile can be controlled with only D1, D2; and if brought to L position automobile can be controlled with D1 speed transmission.
For not transmitting higher speed transmissions the driver can use OD button in speed gauge control handle.
